So much to do...

and so little time. I know, I know, cliche, but true!

I have a million things I want to do! I have purchased all this furniture, some lovely old pieces, and they need some Rocketgirl love! Mr. Rocketgirl has even offered palm sander lessons, I've learned lots lately about paint & primer from Ms Cupcake, and listened to some lovely design advice on kitschy-ness & eclectic-ness from Rosie.

So where do I begin? I have side tables to do ( which might go to the boys, one for each, I don't love them anymore but they were such a steal), the hope chest, our headboard, Steve's vintage 1940's waterfall dresser and my turn of the century dresser & mirror. BUT, I really want to start on my desk...I've been spending lots of time at it!

and this is one of my inspiration pics...

I'm on the hunt for JUST the right shade of blue...LOVE the hardware. It's going in the spare room downstairs...which is already a soft yellow colour. However, it's going to get a quick re-paint, a bit brighter yellow. I picked up some lovely fabric today (FABRICLAND IS FINALLY OPEN! I'm proud to say that Ms C & I are members...lalala) in a cute blue print to make some window treatments...pics to come.

But alas, the work week starts tomorrow, ~crying little tears~ thankfully it's a short set...

Here comes the sun....

I cannot get over this gorgeous weather day. It's noon and it's 16 degrees. Are you kidding me?? Wait, I know what you are thinking, it's noon, it's amazing out and you are on your laptop?????

Well I've been pretty busy today I will have you know. Boys off to school, Rocketgirl off to yoga, Rosy off to the groomer for her very first time, Rocketgirl to the track...no not the betting track...the fitness track...off to the fruit/veggie market, SOF for groceries, walk Roy, make some calls for Mr Rocketgirl...and now I am taking a breather on the couch with my Go Green Smoothie: no banana today....cleanse day...greens day. (Ingredients; 3 cups spinach, 1/2 cup OJ, 1/2 cup acai berry juice, 1 scoop chia seeds). I have a goal you know...a health/fitness goal....I have two months left to attain that goal. Says who? Says me...and sometimes says Mrs Cupcake when I have a donut in my hand ;) Thank goodness she keeps me in line!

Sorry to disappoint, but I just don't think that sewing machine is comin' out of the box til after my set...next day off after today is Friday. I'm very IMPATIENTLY awaiting some fabrics that I ordered from Etsy...some Butler, Kaufman etc. And then I hope to sew up a storm! A STORM I tell ya!

Enjoy the sun!

transference

so mrs c has the birthday, and i exhibit the signs of old age. i'm thinking...that ain't right!
ok ok, so like the true hypochondriac i am i trucked myself into emerg yesterday cuz i was having chest pain. but, i really truly was. i couldn't breathe, pain, pain, pain, some lab work, an ekg and a chest xray later and nothing. chest pain is better today...breathing is better, still big bad pain to my back...so weird. like i have time for that. but i figured, given the physical nature of our job i better take a sick day today.

well what a good day for that! it is mrs c's bday today (wheeee) so we shopped at Fields (what???? i know), we went for bday pedicures, yummy sushi, went to Roses & Rutabagas (sigh) and fabric shopping. i could very well have pushed it a little, i'm sore and exhausted but what a lovely day.

i'm in my jammies.painkillers on board. just ordered my sewing machine (YESSSSSSSS), listening to jukebox oldies on ch419. catching up on all you bloggers out there.

i want a blizzard. the dq kind.

everything happens for a reason. love, ROCKETGIRL. xo
