143 years young!

That's right! 143! Happy Birthday to our wonderful country!
Pleading & begging WHOMEVER is in charge of the weather to throw a little sun our way for the day....

Agenda; Canada Day Parade, head into the city to catch some fun & festivities, evening baseball game at the historic & famous Nat Bailey Stadium to cheer on our locals & future MLB stars! Fireworks! Shazaam!

Don't forget your Rocketgirl History lesson...you didn't think I would let you get away did you?  Nat Bailey...baseball fanatic, entrepreneur, started the White Spot chain of restaurants that we know & love.  Canada Day...1867, Queen Victoria signs the declaration that allows Canada to be an independent country of Great Britain.  Short but sweet, got it?

What are YOU doing to celebrate Canada Day?

Haaaaaaaaleluujah!

I STILL have one more day off to go! WOOT!
Have you been wondering what I have been up to??? Well let me tell you...

Friday was Trifecta day. The trifectess who hosted surprised Ms Cupcake & I will little goody bags full of crafty goodness...so we drank coffee, giggle, gossiped & crafted. I LOVE Trifecta day! It's pure bliss! I love you Trifectesses!

Saturday we took the doggies to White Rock beach. Oh my little heart was so warmed to see them frolicking on the sand & in the waves!

I also picked up my new/old desk that morning! It was at an Estate sale...10 bucks! Solid wood! Boy is she going to get a makeover...she is going in the spare room downstairs and she is going to house a lovely new sewing machine!

While that was all very lovely, spending time sans kidlets with the hubby, coffee & chatting...Saturday afternoon takes the cake! Ms Cupcake & I went to meet our new great, sweet, thoughtful, funny, WONDERFUL friend from Roses & Rutabagas. She surprised us with a gorgeous little gifty each...don't be jealous...we have to do some reporting back to her on it, so it's kind of like work! ;) We spent two hours there just chatting & laughing. Then I took Ms Cupcake to the VV Boutique where she scored a lovely little end table.

Today, busy, typical Monday...boys to school...I went to Rotary...2 miles. (LOVE my new runners!) Went to massage therapy...again, don't be jelz...it's not a lovely relaxing massage, it's very soft tissue manipulating...I hurt myself @ yoga 2 weeks back. As a result, the RMT said ABSOLUTELY NOT when I asked him if I could go to yoga in the morning :( Oh well, besides, I'm in pain....

I did however.....SEW! I made a reusable shopping tote (click link to see!)

And now my ass is firmly planted on the couch. The kidlets are in bed...the hubs is watching baseball...and I obviously, am blogging with my tea. Hugs to Ms C today. My thoughts were with you all day mon amie.

Dear friends in blogland, I wish you a restful Monday night!

everything happens for a reason. love, ROCKETGIRL. xo

stop, drop & roll!

guess what i did today. got up. took boy 1 to school. came home. took boy 2 to school. came home. ate 4 more pillsbury halloween cookies. went to bed.

so it's noon thirty-ish. time for a shower i guess. go get a coffee. go get boy 1, go get boy 2. drink some more coffee. tidy the house. make dinner. wait for steven. bed. sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

for all you sports fans out there, it's philly vs the angels or the yankees in the WS. i'm ok with philly & the angels. not those dirty rotten oughtta be tossed out of the mlb new york yankees. except you johnny damon. you bring your hot little ass to my house, get in line behind Daniel Goddard & Taylor Lautner. Oh hell, who's in for a dawn sandwich!

i had the strangest dream during my morning nap. it was about MCBabyC. no lie. she was in a teal green, off the shoulder super ruffly ball gown, we were trying to find the right escalator in Guildford Mall (but it wasn't really Guildford...you know how that goes) the escalators went all which way, all of a sudden the escalator stairs went flat while we were on them. i knew she was talented but she got down, arms straight up over her head like a pencil and rolled all the way down the rest of the stairs and into a bank. Unscathed. WOW.

and that is why you don't eat handfuls of pillsbury cookies prior to napping.
